The Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce has run the Threshermen’s Parade for more than 55 years. It is always held the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Each year 10,000 to 15,000 people line the streets of downtown Pontiac to watch the parade. Parade favorites include the Pontiac Township High School Marching Band, the South Shore Drill Team, the various Shriner club cars and, of course, the many varieties of tractors!
This year’s theme is Route 66…The Road to Happiness and the grand marshal is Nathan Joerndt.
