The Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce was invited by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to attend a Tour of I-55 Construction around Pontiac. The group took a bus to a work area north of Pontiac where we got to see IDOT’s crews from ground level. Also attending were Senator Jason Barickman, Representative Tom Bennett and a representative from Senator Don DeWitte’s office.
The Pontiac Chamber was so excited to have a table at the Tiny Martini Tasting Event held by SOCU-Pontiac Branch at Baby Bulls.
The Chamber is taking applications through August 9th. The parade will be held Sunday, September 1 in Downtown Pontiac at 1:15p. The theme is “Freedom isn’t Free-Honoring our Hometown Heroes” . This year we’ll be inviting all military, veterans, first responders including police, fire and EMTs to collectively serve as our Grand Marshall. Stop by our office at 210 N. Plum St. and pick up your application today!
We have been hard at work at the Chamber the past couple of months with our golf outing and getting things ready for the Thresherman’s Parade.
We have squeezed in some cleaning time as well and were able to donate office supplies to the Boys & Girls Club of Livingston County.
The Chamber was happy to be a part of the groundbreaking ceremony for Wally’s, the vacation center, that is building in Pontiac. A lunch followed at the beautiful Eagle Theater. Wally’s hopes to be open in May of 2020 providing approximately 140 jobs to Pontiac.
Thanks to Tom Bennett for bringing a representative from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to town this morning and thanks to the Elk’s for a tasty breakfast.
