We hosted our first information workshop and this one covered Social Media and how to add it to your marketing plan. Students from PTHS and Career and Community Services Coordinator, Betsy Westergreen explained to the group the different social media platforms and what they are used for. Cat then lead a round table discussion on how to apply these platforms to marketing their businesses. So, many experiences and ideas were shared and we look forward to setting the date on a follow-up.
What a fabulous turnout we had at Fitness Premier for our Business After Hours. It was fun seeing everyone and getting the grand tour of this modern facility. Rick, Cheri and the crew were gracious hosts and were so accommodating.
Thank you so much to Hustedt Jeweler’s for hosting our Business After Hours Thursday, September 19th. We enjoyed looking at all the beautiful baubles while sipping a little wine from PK UnKorked. It was a great time to start my Christmas Wish List, wink wink…
Thanks so much to the Bank of Pontiac for hosting our first ever Flu Season Kick-off Drive-up with the Livingston County Health Department September 26th. We are so excited to have helped individuals and families be healthy this year!
Thanks to Brian Dukes, Jon Kilgore and Betsy Westergreen for filling us in on the state of Pontiac Schools and to Edinger’s for hosting and providing us with a delicious breakfast.
Mayor Bill Alvey with Congressman KinzingerCat Coppinger, Kinzinger, & Danielle Coyne
Cat and Danielle took a tour of the Strevell House and attended a presentation that included former Congressman Tom Ewing. Tom thanked and introduced Congressman Adam Kinzinger for all of his work to get Livingston County admitted to the Abraham Lincoln Natl Heritage Area.
“Among the many connections Pontiac has to Abraham Lincoln, one of the most interesting revolves around Lincoln’s friendship with local attorney, Jason W. Strevell. Strevell and Lincoln were close friends and shared many hours together in conversation. One of the most documented meetings between these two gentlemen occurred on the evening of January 27, 1860. During the course of the conversation, Strevell suggested that Lincoln might be selected as the Republican Party’s presidential candidate at the upcoming party convention. Lincoln argued that he might be chosen as a vice-presidential candidate, but did not believe he would gain the top spot on the ticket”. The rest as they say, is history.
