Do you love live music? Well check out the new Judy McGlasson Municipal Band Shell.
The Judy McGlasson Municipal Band Shell was built with the generous support of the McGlasson Family, the Apollos Camp Bennett Humiston Trust & the J. Paul Yost Trust.
The Ribbon Cutting was held on June 3rd at the opening ceremonies of the Judy McGlasson Municipal Band Shell. Internationally renowned composer Robert Sheldon had written the “Riverside Overture” especially for the June 3rd concert. The performance on June 3rd was the first time that this new work was played publically. Sheldon’s other works have been performed across the globe and he is a member of various organizations that promote music and music education.
Mindi Terrell, executive director of the Chamber, described the addition to the city of Pontiac.
“It’s a wonderful new place. It’s awesome to see the Municipal Band play here. I was also here to see the Vermillion Players performing “Life is a Highway.” That was a lot of fun and there was a great crowd for that. I think this is going to be a great addition to the park,” Terrell said.
The Pontiac Municipal band will present a new concert at 7 pm every Friday during June & July.
