Pontiac Community Art Center Creates Artwork for Children’s Advocacy Center

The Children’s Advocacy Center received a beautiful piece of artwork from the Pontiac Community Art Center on April 28. Nancy Flessner created the piece using a poem written by Dr. David Alexander as inspiration.

The artwork features news coverage of the trial of Heather Lamie, who was convicted of murdering her 4-year-old foster daughter, Kianna Rudesill.

This is the second collaboration between the Illinois State Poetry Society and the Pontiac Community Art Center.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Chamber Launches New Website

The Pontiac Chamber is pleased to announce the launch of our new, more interactive website! After months of hard work and dedication, the website launched at www.pontiacchamber.org. We hope you find the new website fresh and easy to navigate.

Our goal with this new website is to provide better promotion of Pontiac Chamber members and make it easier for site visitors to find them. The searchable business directory allows visitors to search by business name or category.

The new ‘Hot Deals’ section offers a way for our members to get promotions out to the community. People can find the deals online and sign-up for a weekly Hot Deals email.

The website will continue to be a hub for events happening around Pontiac, not just Chamber events. The calendar is now searchable by category and keyword. To also receive the weekly email that lists upcoming events, contact the Chamber office at 815.844.5131 or info@pontiacchamber.org.

The new site also allows the Pontiac Chamber to accept credit cards for chamber events such as Issues & Eggs and the ATHENA Awards Luncheon.

Check out the What’s New section for both member and Chamber news. We will be continually updating our content with helpful information, articles, newsletters, and company announcements in the What’s New section.

Thank you to Joe Diaz at Diaz Sign Art for all of his hard work in building this website. And thank you to Rebecca Campbell Photography for taking the great photos of all our board and team members.
